since Randy's been gone...

We have kept pretty busy since Randy left in October. Thankfully that has really helped to pass the time a little faster!
  • we attended 4 birthday parties (5 if you count a old person one, haha)
  • participated in trunk-or-treat
  • trick-or-treated on Halloween
  • decorated for Halloween
  • undecorated for Halloween
  • rearranged the 'dining area'
  • attended at least 2 soccer games (could be more but I cant remember when it ended)
  • went to a soccer pizza party
  • had a great ladies game night!
  • decorated for Christmas
  • Pulled off my first ever (and fairly successful) FRG event for Thanksgiving
  • Stuffed ourselves on Thanksgiving
  • attempted (not all were successful!) at least 5 crafts with the girls
  • and of course done loads and loads of misc stuff constantly.

Some how my to do list is still untackled

Fun things happening!!

So excited for the upcoming weeks and thing that are going on!
This week I'm getting some much needed photo lessons from a friend, yay!
On friday the post is having it's tree lighting with a small festival sort of thing. The girls and I are especially excited about the free horse and carriage ride that night! And of course Santa will be there as well!
Saturday, Kaitlyn has reindeer games with her girl scouts. Then next week Randy will be home!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not only is that exciting all in itself but that means we get to go and let the girls pick out a Christmas tree! I simply cannot wait to see what silly looking tree they pick (they are not quite the same as America's!)
Then, the following week I start my college classes again! only 5 classes to go! I'll be starting with the psychology of health and algebra 2 (hahaha).
And then on the 17th we are all going to participate in Corri Babbo Natale Corri, or "Run Santa Run" in downtown Vicenza.
Fun times! ooooooh, I almost forgot it's our turn to bring a 'creative' snack for girl scouts next week... this is what Kaitlyn picked out...

This is how ours turned out (a lot of fun to make and the kids loved eating them!)

Just use food coloring in cream cheese, spread on your rice cakes and add your fish! so easy!

go me!

I havn't been able to do as much working out as I would have liked to while Randy has been gone, but, I have made progress! Anytime I forget that I like to take a look at this website (that I love and have been using for almost 2 yrs now!) http://www.physicsdiet.com/ It's awesome because even if you are a slooooooow loser like me, as long as you input your numbers you will see you are still going down! (the chart always makes me happy)
and of course I love looking back through pictures of me because that really makes me smile!

This was in August....

This was a few days ago! Obviously from the picture its clear I still have a ways to go, but I'm getting there!

more funnies...

Kaitlyn to a group of kiddos out back: "who in this group knows how to ride a two-wheeler?"  One of the kids: " well I can ride a three wheeler." Kaitlyn: "big deal! thats just a tricycle!"

Kaylee "I don't like soccer much, but I like my coach much."

me, "kaylee, go back out and ride your scooter." Kaylee " no, my scooters making me tired."

Kaylee "my teacher today said 'criss cross applesauce' "  randy, "show me how you do criss cross applesauce". Kaylee sits and crosses her legs (not indian style). I proceed to sit indian style to see if thats what she meant to do. Kaylee "thats it! but I just cant figure it out!" she throws her hands up in the air.

Kaylee: "so you want to look like that girl?" (pointing to girl in exercise video) me:"sure do, thats why we're doing this." Kaylee: "so then your belly wont move all around ?"

conversation between kaitlyn and kaylee... "I will be the mom, moms are the skinny ones." "and I will be the dad, the bigger one".... (kaylee was the dad)   :)

Rosalee is 6 months now...

Time is really flying by. Rosalee is 6 months old now and is doing great. She holds her own bottle (when she feels like it!), she babbles like crazy, rolls on her side, sucks her thumb, lights up when someone smiles at her, loves her sister, babbles like crazy, and sleeps through the night... well she did, and is just all around a happy, awesome, beautiful little girl :) Here is a cute progression of pictures of pretty little Rosalee...

8 years ago (on sunday)

 Dec 2003

                                                                   July 2003

Eight years ago, Randy and I got married in Hawaii. Not many people (besides family and close friends), know the story behind how we came to be. So here it is... (and if you've ever questioned 'fate' this will make you a believer)

When I first arrived in Hawaii I got put in transit/temporary billets that were so old and run down. Everyone first arriving there under the rank of SGT had to stay there in these 4/5 man rooms while they went through a series of introductory classes for 2 weeks. I cannot tell you how absolutely depressed these buildings made me. I was in Hawaii, it was supposed to be awesome. Instead I was so sad and homesick and of course being a PV2 I was getting yelled at all the time for nothing, (to top it off the airline had lost a good bit of my luggage which was mostly uniform stuff:/  ). I'm sure mom can remember me calling and crying to her during the first few days because I was so miserable, and she probably thought I was out of my mind. She knew personally that Hawaii was awesome.
I guess I should explain that this 'class', this group of newbies, was all different MOS's (job specialties). So even though I was an MP I was going through the class with infantry guys, and medics and everyone else. On the third or fourth day of class we took a tour of a museum somewhere in Honolulu. It was so darn hot and we were all not used to that heat. I can remember everyone packing into this little cafe there to get something to drink. That's where I met Randy. We were all crammed in there talking about where we came from (our hometowns), and Randy said Cincinnati (which everyone back home knows is easier to start with than explaining were from the very tip of KY right across the river from Cincy). I overheard him and said 'no way, I'm from NKY!"
From there we just started to go back and forth till we figured out he lived in Elsmere (so did I), that he went to Dixie (my school's rival school), and that our parents worked at the same hospital! Ha! Small world indeed. OR-- fate :)
We became great friends, hanging out all time. I can even remember a time that Randy wanted to hang out and I said I couldn't because I had to go get some stuff for my new barracks room (I remember specifically a pillow), and he just ended up joining me. Haha, I can actually remember back to over 8 years ago, walking around inside the furniture store with him shopping for a pillow and bedset. :)
Well to get on with the story....
On October 16, 2003 I got off of work for the day and drove down to his motorpool to pick him up. While I sat there I picked up the phonebook (not sure why I had a phonebook in the car) and picked a random pastor/minister to call. I called and scheduled us to be married later that evening on the beach down in Waikiki. Randy got in the car, I told him we getting married today :) and we went to the px where he got a nice shirt and tie and then back to my barracks where I knocked on some doors until I found someone that had a white sundress. We quickly got dressed and headed down to Waikiki. We barely made it because of CRAZY Hawaiian rush hour traffic.
And there ya go. Randy and I stood on the sand on a beach in Waikiki, our backs to the water, and said our vows. It was great. I will never forget anything about and I can close my eyes and still picture everythign. Unfortunetly, because of the spontinaity we had no one else there and have no pictures :(

Here are some pictures from our first year of marriage :)
Randy was about to deploy, so I handcuffed so he couldn't go, (it didn't work)

This was our first Christmas together, we were in Hawaii can you tell? haha

This is the first goodbye we had to go through...

*sniff, sniff* Kaitlyn started Kindergarten...

Kaitlyn was so darn excited to go to her first day of school (and every day since). She jumped right out of bed and I've never seen her get dressed so fast! Randy was off so we all walked her up to the school. The kindergarteners line up outside after the bell rings and then the teacher walks them in. So she lined up and we waited to see her off, {insert tears, (for me, not her)}.
When we picked her up she had so much to tell us! Of course she absolutely loved every minute and has loved every minute since.
Kaitlyns first day of Kindergarten photo :)

Kaitlyn standing in line with her classmates waving (look hard, she's way in the back)

This is too funny. Kaitlyn likes to ride her bike to school everyday. Can you guess which bike is hers :)

And... Just in case you needed a blast from the past, the photos below are from Kaitlyns first days of preschool...

Sept 2009 (about 3 1/2 yrs old) before preschool at the YMCA (which was AWESOME)

Sept 2010 (4 1/2 yrs old) before preschool at Ft Carson.
